Atlanta Apartments For Rent: 4th of July Celebrations

Atlanta Fireworks Centennial Olympic Park

Fourth of July celebrations vary across the United States and Atlanta’s apartment dwellers can choose from the best events in north Georgia. There are many cheap or free things to do in Atlanta this 4th of July weekend from traditional fireworks displays and the classic Peachtree Road Race to exciting new happenings like the Georgia Aquarium’s “Red White & Brew” beer festival. Atlanta Apartments for Rent blog offers this guide to happenings in the metro Atlanta area.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution hosts the annual Peachtree Road Race, the world’s largest 10K! Registration for the race is now closed and runners have been chosen via lottery, but Atlanta residents can cheer on their favorite athlete or team. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. and follows a route from Lenox Square Mall to Piedmont Park. Spectators are encouraged to ride MARTA. Bands will provide live music at several locations along the route with plenty of vendors offering food, beverages and souvenirs. A map and wave start times can be found here.

From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Georgia Aquarium Oceans Ballroom visitors 21 and over can attend the Red White & Brew beer festival and fireworks display while raising money for education. The price of entry includes unlimited beer sampling, live music from The Geeks and a full BBQ dinner buffet. As the evening closes, attendees will gather at the aquarium’s parking deck for the Centennial Olympic Park July 4th fireworks display.

Friday, July 4, 2014 Coca Cola sponsors the celebration and fireworks display at Centennial Olympic Park. The party begins at 2 p.m. and ends with a spectacular fireworks show just after dark, around 9:30 p.m. Many of the scheduled activities including the fireworks display are free for residents of Atlanta apartments. Or apartment residents can attend the southeast’s absolute biggest fireworks demonstration which takes place after dark at Lenox Square Mall. On Saturday, July 5th East Point, GA hosts its Independence Day celebration all day and ends with another free fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. This event is convenient to MARTA and The Lexington Apartments.

JAMCO Properties, Inc. wishes you a happy and safe 4th of July weekend!

Tips for Before You Move into Your Atlanta Apartment

It seems like your current rental starts to feel like home when suddenly it is time to relocate to a new Atlanta apartment. If it has been awhile since your last move, you may have forgotten how painful the transition can be. Unless you have hired professionals, you will rely on friends to help you. Buy them pizza and follow these tips to lighten the burden of moving into your next apartment rental.

First, get rid of some of your things. You have too much stuff to move. Sell items in a yard sale, donate things to charity and give stuff to friends. Minimizing the work load can begin when you start searching for your Atlanta apartment.

Then, have your remaining possessions packed before the movers arrive at your old apartment. Nothing will waste more time than having your pals or hired muscle watch you decide what goes in which box. Be ready for them to carry boxes.

Next, select the best volunteers for moving into your next Atlanta apartment rental. Mark boxes accurately to protect your friends. Do not let boxes exceed the appropriate weight for individuals to carry. Likewise, choose the right vehicles. A living room sofa will not fit in your friend’s hatchback.

Finally, consider hiring cleaners to take care of your vacated apartment unit. The place will need to be spotless to receive any or all of your security deposit back. Moving all of your things has likely taken its toll on you and your buddies, so why not let someone else take care of the old place? Start enjoying your new Atlanta apartment (and pizza) now!

Oversized Furniture in Small Spaces

The Lexington Apartments just south of Atlanta in East Point, GA have a wide range of spacious floor plans for every budget. The large bedrooms accomodate every need. If you haven’t found the perfect home in metro Atlanta they wanted to share the tips below for moving large furninture into a small space:

Prepare:

Measure the length and width of the bed and other large pieces of bedroom furniture. Use a pen or pencil to write these numbers down on a notepad; you’ll need them for reference. Measure the length and width of the room so you know exactly how much space you have to place the furniture. Make a note of outlets at this time, too. Lamps and alarm clocks need to be placed on suitable furniture (dressers or tables) near the outlets.

Place:

A bed is usually the piece of bedroom furniture that takes up the most room. Once you know where the bed will be situated, you’ll find it easier to place other furniture. Lie down in the bed as though you were sleeping. If you are comfortable with the bed’s angle and placement, keep it there. There should be enough room alongside the bed to easily get up in the morning (or in the middle of the night) without bumping into things.

Place the next largest piece of furniture in the room, which is probably the dresser. Keep enough space between the dresser and other items to access all drawers. Likewise, if you are placing a desk in the room, leave room for the desk chair.

Place smaller items, like nightstands and wall decor, in the room last. It’s easier to manipulate these smaller items to make them fit than it is to place large pieces. You can also choose to eliminate a few of the small items.

Practice:

Leave the room and come back in. Pretend you are going to the furniture items: You are going to bed, for example, or retrieving something from the dresser. If you must work to avoid bumping into table corners or other pieces of furniture, you may need to arrange the room a bit differently.
